Have you ever wondered what was the most expensive car wreck ever? Well, back in July of 2012, a Ferrari worth an estimated $30 million, was involved in an accident. The Ferrari was owned by US businessman, Christopher Cox.
He was taking part in the 50th anniversary celebration of the very rare model. The car was a Ferrari 250 GTO. Apparently only 36 were ever made between 1962-1963. Three additional versions were built in 1964, and called the “Series II”.
Guess what? This is not the first time this car has been in an accident. It was involved in another crash in 1976. According to a CNBC report, if the car is properly restored, the damages won’t bring down the value of the car. Since there are only 36 in existence, I don’t think he will have a problem retaining the car’s value.
